Adena Muncey’s yoga journey began 24 years ago, drawn to the strength, mobility, and deep connection to self that yoga offers. With a background in exercise science, advanced degrees in Chinese medicine and acupuncture, and training in Ayurvedic medicine, Adena has spent decades honing her practice and understanding of the human body, including living and teaching in India for four years.
As an instructor, Adena is known for her unique sequencing that emphasizes both strength and mobility. She blends her deep understanding of anatomy with creative flows that challenge students while keeping the practice fun and energizing. Adena’s goal is to make every class a journey of self-discovery where students feel both challenged and invigorated. If you hear “Baba Hanuman” by Krishna Das humming through the studio, it’s probably Adena’s class.
Outside of yoga, Adena is passionate about staying active and maintaining a balanced lifestyle. She enjoys running, lifting weights, reading, and spending quality time with her husband and three children. Adena is most proud of raising three wonderful kids while balancing her personal and professional life. Her favorite activities in Houston include running at Memorial Park and watching polo matches around the area—both of which allow her to stay connected to nature and her community.
