Brett Alt’s journey to yoga began on a spiritual quest as a younger truth seeker, where he first encountered the practice. Seeking relief from degenerative disc disorder, yoga re-entered his life and reconnected him to his deeper spiritual path. With 13 years of consistent practice and 10 years of teaching, Brett has cultivated a strong, mindful approach to yoga that integrates physical postures with a profound spiritual awareness.
Known for his expertise in handstands, inversions, and arm balances, Brett brings a playful, yet grounded energy to his classes. He encourages students to approach these challenging poses with patience and confidence, offering modifications and guidance to help each individual reach their fullest potential. His playlists reflect his eclectic taste in music, with a blend of Emmit Fenn, Lithe, and Trevor Hall setting a calm yet energizing tone for the practice.
Outside of the studio, Brett cherishes time with his wife and son, as well as gardening, meditation, and reading. He finds joy in exploring Houston’s cultural and natural spaces, often enjoying walks or bike rides to the Menil Collection, Rothko Chapel, Rice University campus, and Buffalo Bayou Park.
